Christmas + My cooking project + A random video

Soooo, it's been a while, and a busy while for me anyways; Christmas shopping for a whole week, just going through every single store possible. I realized it's past Christmas, but I said I'd write about it, so I am. Here goes!

So my family and relatives celebrate Christmas kinda differently; instead of partying on the 24th and wake up on the 25th to open presents, we party on the 24th till 12am and open presents. By then though, half of my cousins are all dead tired, but have some kind of sugar rush that keeps them up until they open all of their presents. We celebrated at my grandparent's place, seeing as we've been celebrating the last 7 ones at my house o.o The presents I received weren't the kinds that I'd go "OMIGOSH THANKS!!!" over, but I'm still glad I got them (I'm not gonna say what I got and sound like some spoiled kid who brags about his presents o.o). Some of the presents that were wrapped up came from "Santa Claus", which kinda makes me laugh (Call me a non-believer, but I don't think Santa exists). The presents that did come from Santa came by 2 or 3 people who have different writing styles; one wrote cursive, the other bold, and another just fancy-ish. If you actually thought about it, why would Santa write in 3 different fonts? Anyways, my cousins are almost all younger than me, so they still believe in him.

I've told some people that I'd be starting a cooking project (cooking dinner for my family), but I didn't know when. What made me stop procrastinating was that my cousin from the U.S came over to visit and celebrate Christmas with everyone here, so I wanted to do something for her. Why not cook dinner for her? I thought. It would be "killing two birds with one stone" like some people say. We took quite a lot of photos, and I posted some on Facebook, so people who actually know me can go and see. For those who don't, I'll put a picture up. The food tasted really good, so I'm kinda proud of myself XD

A random video? Not just ANY random video; a Twilight spoof trailer! I was at one of the many parties my family was invited to, and my friend there showed me the video. Sure, it mocked Twilight, but it was HILARIOUS! Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dompotjTeIA Hope you find it funny like I did XD

One thing I didn't add in the title was my parent's anniversary party. It's a party I'll actually enjoy, since they're inviting family friends and relatives over. If you're wondering, it's their 19th anniversary, which I didn't find out till like, a week ago. Yes, I'm such a bad son for not remembering, and I feel guilty. Then again, I don't really happen to remember anything these days, like my dad's cell phone number, when each period ends at my school, even 911 (Yeahhh, I thought it was 991 for a day)!
I guess I'll be writing after the anniversary party, so see you 'til then!

Random Post on my DS

So this is an extremely random post about my DS, but hey, isn't that the reason why I named my blog what it's name? I was spending half an hour or so (Yeah, I know. I'm such a nerd) trying to add homebrew stuff into my DS. Internet instructions sure can be confusing, so that's why I took so long, but it all paid off. The homebrew is called DSOrganizer, which comes in handy a LOT. It has a calender, things-to-do organizer, clock, an MP3-format song player, movie player, picture viewer, and this application which is almost similar to Paint. There's still a lot more stuff I've still to discover, but it's homework time, so cya!

Been Such a Long Time, Eh?

So yeahhhh...Yay for extremely slacking! It's been such a long time (Almost a month to be precise). I guess homework's to blame, and I say this cause I've been staying up later than usual finishing it. I'll attempt to recall everything that's happened these 3 weeks or so, but if I cut off, I hope you know what to blame =)

So uhhhhh, I guess I'll start near late November. Apparently the student council came up with the spirit day of "Pajama Day". If you don't know me, I'm not that type of guy that dresses up. It's pretty sad though, since the whole student council has to dress up to set an example. The two top people in the council, the treasurer and president, did a pretty crappy job. The president brought a TEDDY BEAR, and the treasurer didn't wear ANYTHING. Now that's just sad, since the other half of the school dresses up. Kinda makes you think why they got the job... Anyways, they didn't really get nagged by anyone, which I thought they should have, but oh well.

Moving into December! Quite a crazy month, since everyone's all over the various holidays and the 2 week break. At this time of the school year, the high schools also host their info nights. I only went to the Agincourt one, since that's the high school I want to get into. My home high school though, Stephen Leacock, had theirs on the same day as Agincourt's, so I didn't get the chance to go. The info night was quite boring, since they kept going on and on about their various clubs and programs for students "to have their chance to shine". I hadn't really thought about high school much until 2 weeks ago, since it kinda is depressing to. Almost all of your friends get split up, and it's harder to stay in touch. High schools apparently check your report cards, which brings me to my next topic.

Report cards came out December 1st, and I guess I was ok with mine. 80% average, not as good as last years, but sure, it works. I did surprisingly well in math (Got two 70s on the unit tests, but got 80s on report card). Some random things did show up. I was away twice, but they marked me down 3 times. They also marked me down as late twice, though I never was. My cooking mark was also awkward. My teacher gave me an 83, which was pretty good, but her comments weren't. "Anthony is unaware of his surroundings and doesn't care about other's safety". Pretty strange since I'm the one telling the others to hold a knife properly o.o This brings me to yet another topic.

Gasp! It's parent-teacher interviews! The thing everyone dreads (Well, me anyways). The student council was there to help out, since it isn't a schedule kind of interview, but a first-come first-serve thing. I spoke to my homeroom teacher, who gave me good comments throughout. I also spoke to my cooking teacher, which was another strange moment. She said I did pretty well, but when my dad asked about the comments she gave me, she just said I did well o.o Maybe there's something else that she didn't tell me...

So we're having a ski day in February, but they gave out forms just last week. Quite a lot of people are going, but I'm looking forward to it. Skiing is soooo fun, even when you fall! XD Too bad you only get to go once a school year here. I'm going for the blue sticker, since that lets you go on most of the lifts. Last year I only reached yellow, which was under blue, since some kid jabbed his skis into my side. I had difficulty skiing after that, so when I took the test for the blue sticker, I failed miserably.

Now to current events. We got our application forms for the high schools we wanted to go to, but I took one for my home high school as well, just in case I didn't make it into ACI. The form looks soooo confusing, even when our school guidance councilor explained it to us. My sister filled out the same form last year, so I hope she still remembers. I still have a while to fill it out, but my guidance councilor wants it back on Monday, so I'll have to hurry.

Last thing on my long list: THE DANCE! Our school auditorium was under construction, so we couldn't do the movie. It was either go to the dance or attend regular classes, so almost everyone in the school went. Our school rock band played, and they were pretty good, even if it was only 2 songs. The student DJs did a fairly good job, and they picked out most of the songs my class wanted. The only downsides were that they had to pause between songs since they don't know how to "link" the songs together. The other downside was that the teachers in charge kept making announcements for ID tags and such, so that killed the spirit a little. Other than that, the dance was good overall.

I might make a Christmas post later on, but this is the end, so until then!

Survey Day + My School is Cheap?

So it's been quite a while since the last post, and I guess you can scrap the "daily" plan, since it doesn't seem to be working o.o Lotsa stuff has been happening, but I'll just skip to the most recent.

I guess the title's pretty obvious what today was about, but for those of you who can't seem to figure it out, I'll recap =D So today was a survery day, where these people from York University came to do a survey (Not just any survey, but a bullying survey). Itsa program called RISE, but I have no idea what it means. Anyways, they came during my core class, though I was hoping I'd skip science. The survey booklet was big and fat (About 10+ double sided pages I think?) so it took more than an hour to do. There were some really random questions though, mostly in your opinion kinda questions. The good thing was, they gave us candy in the end =D Also, your name gets entered into a class draw for some giftcard to Chapters, so Im hoping I win XD Sadly though, the survey cut off into my music class, so no flute for today =(

Onto the second title! So it's pretty obvious as well, but I'll go into it a little. Our Student Council (Sadly, I'm not in) came up with an idea, which is quite cheap-ish. Our school normally hires a DJ to come and play songs during our school dances, but they've thought of getting students to audition and replace the hired DJ. Though the students thought it was a great idea, I bothered to look into it a little, and after some asking around, I got the whole story. The school planned to borrow a sound system, since hiring a DJ cost "a lot more". Apparently it's $50 for borrowing the sound system, and $2000 for buying it. The hiring the DJ in the whole year costs about $2050 or so, (The school plans to buy the sound system) and they can't afford to just hire a DJ under $100, and so need a student DJ. Now where the $100 of saved money goes, I'm not sure. I only say it's cheap since the student DJs suck (No offence to anyone) compared to actual DJs, whose profession is to play music. Besides, the school is only saving $50, and even then, what is it going towards? This kind of discourages me to go to the school dances, even though I've gone to all of them. If I have to pay $3 for some kids who don't know their stuff, I guess I'll have to go watch the movie, which is quite sad since they play child friendly + educational movies E.x Planet Earth.

Anyways, that's all for now, so see you until I feel like writng again!

Somewhat lots of stuff

Wow, so much for daily -.- Oh well. Lemme start off with Halloween & candy hunting.

So we had lotsa time to go, but we ended up starting at 6:45 or so. We went until 8:30 or so, then went back to my house for a break. We continued until 9:30, then went back to my house again (We planned to go till 11, but barely any houses were still open, so we gave up). Everyone got bored, and we ended up playing rockband downstairs o.o Last person to leave was 10:30, so I guess that's reasonable enough.

Just yesterday, Travis, Jen and I went birthday gift shopping for Travis o.o We ended up getting him some gamecube game (I don't remember what game it was, but hey, not my fault). I ended up meeting James at the mall, though I didn't see his sister or cousin anywhere o.o I think we went for 4 hours, and then I had to go. I ended up meeting my parents at Sportscheck, and we ended up going shoe shopping. I eventually left the mall at 6:30, and then ended up grocery shopping o.o I finally got home at 7 -.- Though I did have a good time, I got stuck doing homework until 11.

Now, onto today. Today wasn't the best of days, since we had a random english test, and I dont think I did so well. I almost fell asleep in half the classes, and I think because of lack of sleep o.o Sad to hear, but my class stops doing band early, since most of us can't handle an instrument -.- We now get to learn about Mozart. Oh boy! (Sarcasm intended) Art class was ok, but I get stuck redoing my work, since I did it wrong. Thanks to Dhruv for giving me the wrong instructions -.-

That's pretty much it, so until then!

Slacked Off kinda...

Sorry for not posting in a while >< There's just been so much work, so I didn't have time to write anything. I BLAME MY HOMEWORK.

So the first thing is the student council. So it was a pretty tight run, and the results are in. Apparently I came in third, I lost by one point (If you remember the scoring from the other post). Ah well, I still can say I was in it last year.

Our day with the supply teacher sucked -.- She doesn't let ANYONE talk, for any reason. The only upside is that we only get her for 3 periods a day. Wait, I'm not even sure that's an upside o.o

So I'll get onto today, since I don't quite remember anything from the other two days. We had library today, and my group did something this time. ITSA MIRCALE! It's our final week before group presentations, so I hope we don't blow it off. We had a math test today, which half of the class didn't know about, but I think I did quite ok XD. After the test, our teacher started lecturing us since people screwed around during the test, and so he got mad. We lost 15 minutes of our lunchtime, so I was pretty annoyed -.- Computers was a crisis. I'll just name people guy 1 and guy 2. So guy 1 started spreading romours about guy 2, and he heard, and snitched. Guy 1 got mad and started fighting with guy 2. After that, they both got in trouble and I think one of them got suspended.

Tomorrow's halloween! So it's planned that we're going to start at 6:30, and end at 11. Quite late, isn't it. Sadly, one friend said that he was too sick to come, so we're going to send candy to him XD On the bright side, Travis is coming over to come with us! It was so last minute, and he's only staying till 8, but it's still going to be fun! One question that bothers me though. If we still candy hunt till 11, will there still be houses open? Heck, who knows.

So back to school o.o We have the option of dressing up tomorrow in school. I'm still not sure, but it's probably a yes. Apparently the best person dressed up wins a prize, but that's probably not me. I don't look scary...do I? Nahhh, probably not. I wonder if my teacher's dressing up... I don't think she's the type.

Anyways, that's all for today, so until then!

Nothing much...

So today wasn't very exciting o.o Mrs. Ng ended up staying home yet again, so I'm hoping she'll be here tomorrow to tell us who gets to be student rep. Our supply teacher wasn't the best one, seeing as she couldn't speak french and help anyone. Actually, more like didn't want to help anyone. We made tacos in cooking! It tasted great, and I think my group made the best XD Gym class was a pain (Yet again). The group of HSP and MID kids ruined it for everyone -.-

So me and my family were talking about haloween costumes. My sisters wanted me to be a box (I don't know how that'd work exactly...) and my parents a knight. I rejected them both, saying that both weren't in my best interest. In the end, my younger sister's a pirate, me a "random hooded figure", and my sister a butler (Yes, a butler). I still don't know how long me and my friends are going to be out candy hunting, but most of them are going for 11. The group altogether is a bit over 10 people, I think. Oh well.

Stay tuned for updates, and until then!

Uggghhhh

Trying to keep a daily post, but it's kinda hard with all the stuff happening. So today was supposedly my "homework day", I think you get the idea o.o So I was already behind, since I woke up late (10:40 to be exact), then my parents tell me we were going to my grandparent's to say good-bye to my cousin who'd come to visit. (He lives in P.E.I. with his wife, and they were visiting for the weekend. They also were at the party yesterday, and I didn't know. I'm such a bad cousin ><) I didn't mind since it would only be 10 minutes or so.

After saying goodbye, my mom wanted to go to this clothes warehouse to buy some winter stuff. She said it was a good idea cause of the bad economy and such. *Hint* This is where all the crap starts. I was allowed to stay at home to finish my homework, but my retarded sister wanted to stay home to play games, and so my parents got sick of her and we ALL had to go -_- The warehouse was pretty boring, and I didn't really want anything I wanted. We ended up spending almost $400 and then my mom gets pissed. She starts blaming ME and my sibs cause WE wanted too much. I didn't WANT anything, and she blames me. And what's worse, she doesn't tell it to our face, but hints it to us. "Oooohh, we spent so much," "We should've put back her sweater,". I ended up losing 5 hours to do my homework, and am probably going to stay up late to finish it.

Goods and Bads

Well, the party with my friends went well =) Nothing that really sticks out, but it was good. The party at night, though, was HORRIBLE. The whole house smelled like cigarettes and smoke. Almost all the men there smoked or drank beer, and made the house smell like crap (Mind the swearing, please and thanks). My mom kept talking about my embarrasing me to all the other women, and they go and look at me and laugh. Jerks -.- I didn't bother talking to the kids there, since they don't bother talking to me. We stayed till 12 or so, and I swear, THAT WAS THE HAPPIEST MOMENT OF MY DAY.

So not much today, just crammed inside doing my homework. There's another party this evening, but it's with my grandparents, so it couldn't be THAT bad...could it?

Anyways, that's all for now! Till then! (Wow this entry's short)

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Awww.

So our teacher wasn't here today to tell us who'd won the election for student rep. Guess I'll have to wait till Monday to find out =(

So moving on to the random stuff about my day, which was quite strange o.o The supply teacher arrived half an hour late, and only tought the class for 20 minutes. This girl in my class was called a boy twice by the principal and supply teacher o.o Music test ended up to be really simple, but lots of people failed. Computer class was a mess; all the girls went for their HPV shots and so the guys were left in the class, which wasn't great. Waayy too loud o.o We got to examine milk in science class through microscopes, and I reaaalllly regret seeing what I saw. The milk was rotten, and all sorts of bacteria started showing up in the microscope. I kinda lost my appetite for milk now -.-

And now about tomorrow. Apparently the karaoke party changed to a RockBand party. My mom got a random phone call about going to a party 5 minutes ago o.o It's one of those "night parties", and I reeaaallly don't want to go. There are only adults who smoke and drink all night long o.o The rest of them just never stop talking. Sadly, my mom's cousins are hosting the party, so I'm forced to go -.-

That's all for today, thanks for reading and until then!

Student Rep. Elections, & Other Random Stuff

Pretty much what the title says. So there were four candidates, me included (One guy dropped out). It was pretty tight, since all of our speeches were good. So the voting process was pretty different than most elections. You got to pick 3 people, ranking them from 1st to 3rd, and the points follow as

1st person got 5 points
2nd got 3 points and
3rd got 1 point

Im not sure about the results since they're announced tomorrow, but our teacher Mrs. Ng said it was pretty close; people lost by one point. I'm ok with not making it, but I still hope I am >< anyways, we did tablos (However you spell that) in DPA. Hmm, I have quite a lotta tests tomorrow: Music theory test, math test and a possible french unit test. Quite a lot of studying to do tonight o.o

That's all for today!

My First Entry!

Haha, just what the title says. So I guess I'll talk about my day? Nothing much happened today... We spent a whole period in Computers talking about how we could improve how we were as a class. o.o I guess that's why I named this blog; so very random.
Anyways, today was FREEZING. I totally forgot to bring my jacket outside and literally froze o.o
My hands just froze in place, and I couldnt move anything. So me and my friends played soccer, me being goalie (I suck at goalie by the way). I don't know how some people wore shorts and a t-shirt to play, but I guess that's just them. The score wasn't that bad.... Was it? 3-0, and my team lost, but oh well.
So I was walking home from school and it started snowing. Snowing in October?! How does that work out? A better question would be HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO GO CANDY HUNTING?! Speaking of candy hunting, I think I'm with quite a big group this year o.o Lotsa friends. Wonder how much candy I'll get this year...
Anyways, that's all for tonight, so until then!
